Another scared rant

Perfect! Exactly that.

One question if I may, you were actually diagnosed in the 1990’s with Migraine Associated Vertigo? Not ‘Benign Recurrent Vertigo’ or ‘Migrainous Vestibulopathy’ , or, Menieres, but ‘Migraine Associated Vertigo’? Mine first started in 2003 and I went years misdiagnosed and even though I was born long before the 1990’s I was of the opinion MAV was a very much more recent metamorphism of the condition. Perhaps you can prove me wrong. Helen

Well Menieres was my first diagnosis at university of Pennsylvania but Hopkins was just starting to hone in on what they called Vertiginous migraine or VM which then became MAV. Like many others I have seen more then a few dozen specialists all over the country and had just as many diagnoses too. To say it’s been a rollercoaster is an understatement. I could wallpaper my house with reports, test results, radiology films etc. I wish I had access to a group like this all those years ago, it would have made the emotional component of this illness much easier for sure!

I was thinking of a tattoo with all my various diagnosis over the years, complete with strikeouts and circled items. But 25 years of educated guesses would take up quite a bit of real estate.

Wise words ! Not all treatment is pharmaceutical
