I was just reading about Stephen Kaplan’s research on Attention Restoration Therapy. Kaplan and other researchers basically have found that spending time in natural environments, or at least being able to feast your eyes on nature, not only improves mood but restores the ability to apply voluntary attention effectively.

Given the challenge to focus that I experience when having a bad day, I definitely intend trying this out, to the degree I can. (It’s bloody hot in the DC area to be doing much work outdoors at present.)

Have others experience that speaks to this and its effects on MAV?
