I saw the topic on TMJ and thought I would start a similar thread.
I am a toothgrinder, always have been, and it got worse with the migraine prevention meds. It got to the point that I had a severe problem with temperature sensitivity, even after two root canals. Last week I broke one of those theeth that was reemed out, and today I found out how bad my bruxing is. I broke the tooth all the way down past the roots. I’m going to have to have oral surgery to have what’s left removed. :x Good thing that I don’t have any nerves in that tooth otherwise I would be in major pain.
Now, I don’t have TMJ (investegated that one three times now) but I do wonder how much of my MAV is affected by my bruxing. I know the bruxing isn’t the direct cause because I was dizzy before I started the meds, and my symptoms lessened up drastically with the meds.

How do you experience this? Do showers cause headaches for you or is it more a hot day that drives you crazy? I have become massively sensitised to water on my scalp no matter what the temperature. It causes a terrible headache for the entire day I also grind at night and have been wearing a night guard thing for about 3 years now.
I wake up a lot lately with some pain in my teeth because im pushing my frontteeth forward by my lower teeth (lower jaw pushing forward making lower teeths hit upper teeths). Didnt do this before, but im thinking of wearing a nightguard (dunno if it would help) as I sometimes wake up from the pain :S

Scott,
In regards to the temperature sensitivity, I was refering to my teeth. I was having problems eating or drinking anything that wasn’t body temp.
Also, I thought that I would reword my curiosity regarding bruxing and MAV. Since I started the meds, my MAV symptoms went way the heck down, but my jaw pain went way up from the increased bruxing. This jaw pain extends up along my ears and fans out across most of my head. If I follow the muscles from my jaw, the tenderness extends into my the muscles in the immediate proximatey of my lower front part of my ear. I have wondered in the past if the tender and swollen muscles around my ear may be affecting everything else.
