On 20mg nort for the last four weeks (before that was on nort 10mg for three weeks). It’s not done that much to be honest, maybe a few good days last week but the anxiety and depression I am getting from this MAV is too much. I really want to try and push through the Nori and keep on 20mg for another few weeks then keep increasing gradually. My question is can I take Zoloft 50mg as well? I have been on Zoloft before and it really helps my mental health. I am aware of serotonin syndrome though so I just wanted to be sure, especially as I am planning on increasing my Nori dose. I am seeing my gp tomorrow to ask but just wondered if anyone here is on both these meds?
I suspect you should be able to.
I was on Amitriptyline (the parent drug of Nori) @20mg and was offered Citalopram (another SSRI) to help calm my anxiety.
I refused the additional help and I’m glad I did because I didn’t have to go through the trouble of titrating off Citalopram later.
Also I was able to deal with things naturally.
You need to take a neurologist’s advice on dosage so you don’t risk Serotonin Syndrome which can be quite serious.
I’d consider all conservative, natural measures to calm your anxiety and depression before taking more drugs, but that’s just me:
- walking everyday somewhere nice
- more socialising with friends
- counselling
