I have bad double vision especially at night, but all the time. When hubby sees one moom, I swear there are two, and if he sees an airplane coming at us at night, I say there are two. IF I cover my right eye, all clears up, so I sit watching tv or whatever with my hand over my right eye. I am seeing a neuro-opthamologist on Monday. I wonder if that has anything to do with MAV, because this eye thing started around the same time the migraine headaches and vertigo attacks started. Just a thought. Weird that I can actually still play a little golf, closing right eye and staring at the ball with left. Works pretty good
I don’t know of any relation. Have you had an MRI, and if so what were the results?
It’s good you’re seeing a neuro-opthalmologist. He or she should be able to figure it out for you (hopefully). Good luck.

I’ve had double vision since early childhood. My left eye goes out 45 degrees.
When I was trying to figure out if my vertigo was tied to the double vision, I spent a lot of nights wearing an eyepatch to revert to single vision. It actually helped but did not get to the root of the problem.
My doctors (at the Dizzy Clinic and Mayo Clinic) said that the double vision was a wild card, they didn’t know how it affected my vertigo, but they didn’t think it was the cause of the problem, yet it certainly didn’t help.
In your case, if the double vision just started, and you are already an adult, I would have it checked out, it could be a muscle problem in the eye, or could be a brain issue. Usually it starts at a young age, and can run in families (my niece has it too). Get it checked out for peace of mind.
I get double vision, but I have the opposite “drift” from longshort’s - my eyes prefer to cross, and it’s the kind of thing that gets worse at the end of the day when I’m more tired. My eye doc explained that my eyes are working hard to stay straight, and the more tired I am, the harder it is to keep them straight.
Migraine can make you feel wiped out, so if you have a similar problem, it may exaggerate it. But in my case, like longshort’s, it’s not related to migraine. But always worth getting it checked out.

I have been searching for a cross eyed woman so that our kids would have straight eyes!
Just joking!

Longshosrt and Maryalice…I feel like Dear Abby…to think I have brought you two together at long last. Going to my neuro=opthamologist appt now. Will report if he thinks there is a relationship to that double vision and MAV. Spinning Lady
