Exercise, Deconditioning etc

Same with me. I can stand on one leg for a long time, yet I have the vestibular migraine issues.

The article is great! We are currently in a lockdown (my strength gym is closed), so the Farmers Walk sounds like a good thing to do. Interestingly, when I water my garden, I do something similar: I have two watering cans, fill them up with about 7-8 litres of water and carry them to the plants that need watering.

That’s still a good exercise and routine. Not all have a garden to keep themselves busy during this lockdown. For the meantime, I do jog in place or walk in place just to stretch my legs and to avoid cramps.

Another good reason exercise might help. Irisin? Must admit I’ve only recently heard of it’s existence but apparently it’s thought exercise boosts it’s powers as being a brain saving hormone.

”It’s also unknown how much or what types of exercise might best amplify our irisin levels. But even now, Wrann says, the study reinforces the idea that exercise can be “one of the most important regulators” of brain health. – New York Times”

Great article! It is interesting that the researchers found a decrease in brain inflammation after exercise. I imagine that this would be relevant for people with VM as well.

I have never heard of irisin either, but I do now. And it sounds like a good hormone to have!
