Anyone new to MAV might think about reading a book about Health Anxiety. It can be a very real problem when you have a nasty chronic condition like this. I definitely had it for the first few months. My therapist recommended this book, _“Overcoming Health Anxiety: A self-help guide using cognitive behavioural techniques”_. I read it cover to cover. It was very useful in understanding one’s psychological response to illness and how we sometimes exacerbate things.

Great suggestion!! when the symptoms die down, my anxiety dissipates too. But management strategies for when the problem flares is a good idea:)
