Hi Courtney, you story is so much like mine, even the time frame. Mine started on Dec 30 following a sinus infection. It took me months to get diagnosed but finally I got my VM diagnoses. I see Dr Beh (Telehealth) in Oct too. For now I am taking Botox and and just switched from 100mg Trokendi to Zonisamide. The medications have got me atleast somewhat functional so that I can work, prior to the meds I wasnāt sure I could even carry on with life. Good luck, keep us posted.
Hi there! Iām glad you got some relief and weāre able to get back to work! I actually saw Dr. Beh in June (I called and asked if they had any cancellations so I could be seen sooner. They didnāt, but he agreed to do a telehealth appointment!) He offered me a supplement regimen which iāve implemented, and some dietary changes, as well as adding in some exercise. Iām still doing really well other than the hormonal changes about twice a month. I hope your appointment goes well! I think Dr. Beh is awesome.
So you have found success with dietary changes, supplements and some form of exercise regime? Thatās lucky for you. Many lost souls come to this site hoping to do just that and few seem to manage itā¦ Iām sure they would be happy to read about your success in more detail if you would feel able to share. This site thrives on shared information.
Btw are you still taking the Depakote? I noticed it still listed on your User Cardā¦ Is it still part of the picture? If not perhaps you could amend accordingly. Thx. Helen
Hi there! jumping on late but was curious if when you saw Dr. Beh if you had a huge waitlist. Also, are you in the Dallas area? I would love to see him Telehealth because Iām all the way in NY. Donāt think I could get on a plane.
Hi! Sorry for the late replies. Life got the better of me! Yes! I have experienced a lot of progress with diet/supplements/exercise. Obviously my symptoms wax and wane, but iāve seen a lot of improvement with just figuring out triggers and avoiding as much as possible. Iām also extremely lucky to not have had to go back to work just yet.
I will have to update, but iāve basically just been taking magnesium. I started with magnesium, coq10, b2, and d3 but one of them was making me feel horrible, so iām currently trying to figure out which it was. As far as exercise iāve actually gotten myself back to running! I start with a very slow walk in nature, and now iām at the gym on the treadmill. Some days are better than others, but if i can make it for a couple runs a week i feel on top of the world.
He did have a pretty big waitlist. I got in contact with Dr. Beh in February 2020 and had an appointment for October 2020. In June i was at my wits end and called to see if they had any cancellations and they actually told me i could do telehealth. It doesnāt look like Dr. Beh will be taking in office appointments for awhile, so now would definitely be the time to make one with him if possible. I only live about an hour from Dallas and he still told me i will have to do telehealth for awhile lol. I have friends all over the states who have seen him through telehealth. Iām so sorry for the late reply!
Thanks for this response! Super helpful info! Even if it may take a while to see him I hope it will be worth it!
Great. You will certainly have to post an Update and I need to remember your username for the next time someone asks if improvement solely with lifestyle changes can actually happen.
More emphasis seems to be placed in the US on diet and supplements than here in the UK. They seem almost standard there. Many/most? Medics here donāt even mention them.
Itās odd almost everybody thinks supplements are totally innocuous. If they donāt do any good at least they donāt do any harm theory. Hard to know which caused you problems even if the problems had been listed but I reacted against both B2 and D3. One week on 100mg B2 taken at neuros suggestion gave me severe ear pressure and accompanying imbalance and less than a week on 100mg D3 brought on spinning vertigo, BPPV style. Neuro had suggested I also tried Q10 but I decided to pass on that one.
Hi there! I can relate to a lot of your symptoms above.
I get lightheadedness, disoriented, off-balanced (like Iāve been drinking and havenāt), floating sensation, neck pain, head pain, tingling on my head and in my ear. Blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, ect. I started having all these crazy symptoms about 3 years ago. It all came out of nowhere! I am 37 years old female and my symptoms started when I was 34 several months after my second son. Itās been a loooong frustrating journey! Iām just like you- scared to take medication.
Iāve seen tons of specialists! Half them say migraines and other half cervogenic dizziness vestibular issues. I think itās both. Im reluctant to get on medication tooā¦
