Isabel Symptom Checker- throws up Migraine first time

Just came across this article which links to a new symptom checker that doctors are using;

What dya know… type in dizziness and tinnitus or sudden balance loss, and the first thing it throws up is migraine- ahead of labrythitis… Lets hope doctors actually use this tool… Hold on, what are GP’s actually paid for?!

yeah mine came up with migraine

every doctor should know how to treat migraines. Its not rocket science. I thinkt its a disgrace!!

‘‘Migraine ranks in the top 20 of the world’s most disabling medical illnesses. Amazingly, over 10% of the population, including children, suffers from migraine’’

I was origianl diagnosed with vestibular neuritis

Yes I was misdiagnosed for 3 1/2 years!!

GP’s really need to throw off this notion that migraine is just a bad headache which seems to be ingrained in their minds!

I actually wrote to my old GP practice a few weeks ago summarising my story and enclosing a leaflet from this website about Vestibular Migraine in the hope that nobody else will have to go through the crap I went through trying to get a diagnosis. I don’t know if it will do much but just felt I had to say something :x

I was misdiagnosed too. Fortunately not for long as I googled my symptoms and decided to see a specialist before starting vrt. Vrt had been recommended by my dr for labrynthitis!

I have just typed in my symptoms… according to this I’m having a stroke or I have MS!!!Menieres is mentioned too!!

X x

That’s pretty cool. 8)

I put in the following symptoms:

neck pain
dysequilibrium
foggy
anxious
light sensitive
sound sensitive
irritable
tiredness

Alcohol Hangover was the second “common” hit after migraine. So there you go – our lives are a permanent hangover.

Wow! Mine came up migraine, also!
I put in:
dizziness
sensitive to sound
tinnitus
ear fullness
headaches

Very interesting, indeed. Thank you for sharing
