In some weird synchronicity, my husband commented, “They would understand if you had a broken leg and wore a cast.” And he doesn’t even read my posts.
On Saturday, we had a day of computer training, in a hot crowded room. I guess I looked miserable–I only felt the usual nausea and dizziness. My co-worker had a massive migraine, and was popping axert all day, and looking grey. (He gets frequent migraines and dizzy, and “gets” it.)
Yesterday at work, a manager who had previously been a bit hostile, came up and told me how bad I looked at training, and “now she understands.”
So, I got credibility for looking horrible.
“But you don’t look sick”–I guess when you look sick, somehow it becomes real.

I was in an ENT’'s office last week and when asked, I told him I was in the worst health of my life.
He said, “well, if that’s really true . .”
Really true?
Do we have to have blood dripping from our eye sockets like the zombies in Michael Jackson’s Thriller video to get a doc’s attention?
I am pretty much house-bound these days. Not exactly what happens when you have a “cold” you know?
I never thought I could be so sick of something as simple as wearing tennis shoes.
I can only imagine me in high heels with the ground popping up and down as I walk. Lol.
I think we should give every Doctor a taste of vertigo. See how they like it.
I betya attitudes would change. . . . real fast.

I consider myself lucky when it comes to family. Half of the ladies (mother, sister, aunts and cousins) are in the medical field. Though they may not understand what is wrong with me, they are all understanding, sometimes to the point of anoyance. The only person I do have problems with is my sister, she doesn’t doubt that I have balance problems, but she is under the firm belief that migraines are of only one variant, and they can’t cause long term dizzyness.
I have lost a couple of friends over the years though. The first friend that told me that it was all in my head and that I needed to quit faking, I cut off communication with him and haven’t talked to him since.
