I have been on antivert for years but my vertigo has increased dramatically over the years. I went from taking it occasionally to taking it 3 times a day. Still I have missed several days of work and everyday life is a struggle. My doctor recently referred me to an ear, nose and throat specialist who put me on nortriptyline. I am supposed to wing myself off the antivert and caffine but right now I am taking them both. I take both pills in the morning and at night. The first 2 days were fine but today I feel so weak and tired that I can stand for very long. I almost feel like I am high or in a daze. Is there anyone here who has taken both medications at the same time. I don’t want to stop taking the nortriptyline because it seems to be helping.
what dose of nortriptyline did you start on? Maybe you can go down in the dose? did antivert help you a lot? do you have any trouble with walking and did it help with that?

I am on 25 mg but it’s only been a few days. The antivert use to help but not so much anymore. I am supposed to cut my does of antivert down until I am not taking it anymore. I was having balance problems but not walking.
when i started on nortriptyline i started at 10 mg capsules- maybe you can ask to go down on the dose to start?

The ear, nose and throat doctor took me off nortriptyline and said they could not help me. Now I’m seeing a neurologist who has me on neurontin which has its own set of issues.
