Nortriptyline seems to be working!

No worries Nancy. I’m happy to hear from you when I do. Your experience helped me cope. Thank you.

A switch to Amitriptyline might do the trick. Worked for me. Remind me, did you fail Ami? It is a stronger anticholinergic and therefore vestibular suppressant than Nort. 20mg sorted all my issues with video and computer screens.

Oh you did, hmmm. Amitriptyline VS Nortriptyline need advice - #9 by Suffering

Btw my light issues were the same. A mix of daylight and artificial light was always the worst. It made me feel a kind of discomfort in my forehead, most strange. Evident even in cafes during the day with those lovely vintage lamps glowing :frowning:

I know that feeling of not wanting to mess with something that’s working, even it’s not a 100% cure!! Best of luck to you and I hope your symptoms eventually recede further. Take care.

I was on Amitriptyline before the Nort. I switched at 20mg. Ami was the first med I tried and I was so grateful that it helped- the only reason I switched to Nort is because it made me feel heavy and sedated. I asked the Neuro at my last visit if I should switch back to Ami and she did not think that would do anything. I mean without Nortriptyline I cannot get out of bed or look at anything.

I think Amitriptyline might be worth a shot again tbh, especially if you struggle with screens, but yes sedation aspect is significant, especially to begun with.
