Recently diagnosed with migraine variant balance disorder

Yes! I had exactly that! I thought I was the only one! Itā€™S justā€¦ weird! It goes away eventuallyā€¦
I have replied separately about the DVLA

Yes - I think you are right they would be the same! My husband hates shopping with me anyway as I take ages to decide what I want and now it is even worse as I am reading all the labels!

Thank goodness itā€™s not just me! The lovely thing about this community is that you realise you are not the only one experiencing odd things - this helps tone down the anxiety levels!

Thank you - this is very useful. I have got to the stage where I feel OK to drive but wondered if I should. I need to drive for my job and the journey involves the M20 which is often jammed in rush hour so it can take up to an hour to do what is normally a 30 minute journey. I am in danger of losing confidence so I need to bite the bullet.

That made me smile - I love the description ā€˜hippyā€™ food!
It is hard to suddenly change eating habits when there are others to consider. My husband is currently sitting down to eggs and bacon - a late breakfast - and it is driving me nuts as I just love eggs but on this diet they are off the menu!

I really miss eggs. They wouldnā€™t be off a ketogenic diet. Iā€™m just allergic to them. Working out my many food allergies and sensitivities made a real difference in my health.

I am hoping that I will find out what foods I need to avoid by following Dr Sā€™ elimination diet. I should have looked at my diet ages ago for digestion reasons but was too lazy - my stomach feels much better now than before the MVBD - probably down to not having a glass of red wine every night, a very bad habit!

Hey i love your honestyšŸ˜ƒ i would absolutely be too lazy to do ANY diet 100% i just try and mix food so im getting a bit of everythingā€¦but like quite a few others on this forum not once did any of my specialists ask me to start a migraine diet
Im gladšŸ˜

Haha - I have never been a dieter until now  . Normally if I try to diet I end up eating more, but, so far, I have been very strict with myself this time much to my husbandā€™s bemusement. Needless to say he hasnā€™t given up the red wine! If it helps I am willing to try anything at the moment to get back to get back to normal - if that is possible. :grinning:

Ive never been a lover of red wine but my partner enjoys it so im ok thereā€¦but i do like almost anything elseā€¦im a cheap datešŸ˜ And also like others here in moderation alcohol isnt a massive trigger for meā€¦the bus journey to work is worse!!

Yes - travel is not good. I have a neck cushion when I am a passenger in a car to stop my head being bounced around - and for some reason if we get stuck in a jam on the motorway I have a meltdown near on panic attack.

@Janb watch out for weight gain on the Pizo. Try walking off the extra weight every day. Also eat right so you donā€™t land up snacking on junk. All this advice comes from a dude who is getting overweight from the meds and tries to exercise every alternate day.

oherwise good luck and hope the healing continues.

@GetBetter - Thank you for the advice - weight gain is the one thing I am trying to avoid!

Once this hot weather is over I shall start getting out and about again - it has been too hot to walk far- and I am also hoping to find a gentle yoga class. I have started swimming again and I like pottering about in the garden so hopefully that and walking will keep the pounds at bay - that and sensible eating of course!
