no dont drink on benzodiazapines. its a very bad combination â this is one of the big no-no interactions. You can get by with some antidepressants and alcohol, although its discouraged and doctors will tell you not to do it.
also the benzodiazapine is both a rescue and a preventative. the idea of the clonazepam is that it stops the attacks but has such a long half life that it prevents them from occurring. you should get relief from that drug. .25mg once a day is very low, but you will have the opportunity to provide feedback at your next appointment.
Thanks sheepdog. From my reading I figured that was the case. I donât really drink anyway but do sometimes have a glass of wine or margarita when we go out to dinner. Oh well, not a big deal!
Good luck to you! My neurologist put me on supplements (magnesium, riboflavin) BEFORE adding a prescription medication. I added CoQ10 after reading so many comments from this support group. Iâve only been dealing with VM since July, finally âofficiallyâ diagnosed with it end of November. Slow going! On a med now for 10 days, zero difference in my symptoms. I have continued supplements as neurologist never said to stop taking them. Dunno . Itâs a frustrating process but hang in there!
Hi Oliver,
If you havenât already purchased the magnesium, you might want to consider a magnesium product that is formulated with migraine patients in mind. It contains the magnesium along with the other supplements that help with migraines.
I originally tried magnesium, feverfew, riboflavin, and some other supplements that I canât remember now. They didnât work very well. I had fewer migraines, and the ones I had were of less intensity, but it wasnât the relief I was hoping for. Then my new neurologist that specializes in headaches recommended I discontinue the supplements I was using and instead use one supplement called Migrelief.
I gave it a try and darned if my migraines were even fewer than on the magnesium, riboflavin and feverfew. After a few months, I lost my mind and decided to go back to the individual supplements. About a month after stopping the Migrelief, I started having more migraines and they were increasing in intensity.
Well, it doesnât take me long to look at a horseshoe, so I reordered a three month supply and havenât looked back.
Iâve looked for Migrelief, but the best price Iâve found on it is the subscribe and save at Amazon. Let me know if you find it cheaper.
