Sleep Wierdness HELP NEED ADVICE is it tumor?!

Ok this is wierd and i am beiginning to think I have a brain tumor or something else drastically wrong with me despite my clean MRI…When I lay in bed at night (for the past week) I have been laying there reading and not feeling very tired then all of a sudden I am so tired I cant keep my eyes open or recall what i read the last page or so…it is very sudden then i start to drop off to sleep very fast but i am not really all that asleep i wake up a few mins later and am disoriented and feel out of it and after a few more times of that i fall off to sleep and sleep till morning but those feelings are scaring the hell out of me…its like I am on some wierd drug or something but i have not changed or upped my meds in many months…please god tell me a few of you have had this thing happen to you before and it is temporary and perfectly normal…

If you wake up with half of your face drooping, then worry about a brain tumor.
Neurological symptoms are usually the first sign, not something like feeling “drugged”.

Have you considered a sleep study to determine if you have a sleep disorder? There are many, sleep apnea gets the most coverage.
Google it and see if anything sounds familiar. PM if you want, I have been there, done that.

D D ,
yes a few people have mentioned this type of thing before.
you said.

you are on a wierd drug , antidepressants do the craziest things sometimes, they can make us feel strange,
are you making sure you checking everything your taking on top of your meds like say cough syrups, sometimes make anti D’s work faster, keep an eye out for any interactions, calling you chemist ect.
even codein can effect some meds.

how long have you been on your med now?

sometimes thing get worse before they get better,
evey time I up my topa I have the very same feeling you are describing, it will pass.
you dont have a brain tumour,
your MRI would have shown it.
I found having a hot bath before bed helped settle it.

In my opinion this could be good news for you.

In my case, after 3 years of chasing every crazy theory about what was causing my dizziness we finally determined (about a month ago) that I have severe sleep apnea. I was waking up an average of 43 times each hour - all night long, severly sleep deprived, having episodes of low oxygen saturation at night, etc. And of course I was blissfully ignorant of all this until I had a sleep study. I think it very likely that this condition is what caused the MAV. I’ve only just started treatment. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I was having all sorts of crazy things happening as I was about to drift off to sleep. One of the more bizarre is a shaking sensation which occurs just as I’m getting really sleepy. My doctor tells me that the shaking is a normal part of falling asleep but I should not be aware of it. My theory is that after years of having my airway close up as soon as I go to sleep my brain is now compensating by trying to keep me in a more alert state as I’m falling asleep - instead of just letting me fall asleep normally. If you have some sort of sleep disorder this could absolutly explain what you are experiencing.

I say this could be good new because sleep disorders in general and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is particular is very treatable. If you do indeed have a sleep disorder treating it could very well help to resolve your MAV.

My advice is to call your doctor at 8:00 Monday and insist on having a sleep study done as soon as they can get you scheduled for it.

Good luck.
