Hi everyone,

Has anyone read The Dizzy Cook cookbook and noticed the part in the back that says Riboflavin (B2) may interact with tricyclic antidepressants? I can’t find any studies on the internet except that tricyclic antidepressants deplete B2. I would ask my current neurologist but he’s not very helpful and I can’t get in to see a new one until April. I guess I’m just wondering if they’re safe to take together.

If I sat down and thought about it I am sure I could come up with a very long list of users of this site who take Amitriptyline and B2 and they are all alive and, if not well, surviving. @Naejohn as one example comes to mind immediately. In many countries it seems taking B2, Magnesium, Q10 is routine for all MAVers for the duration and irrespective of what prescription preventatives they are later issued with so I doubt there’s much to worry about.

I was thinking the same. That’s why I was surprised to read it. Thank you!

Hi!
Yes, I have been taking high does of the B2 (400mg) for 3 years now. Interesting quote from the Dizzy Cook book… never heard of such a thing. Actually my B2 dosage is on the request of my Otoneuro and Neuro, so I’ll never be without it 🙂 Highly recommend!

Thank you for sharing! It is an interesting quote because the book states it and just leaves it at that. Doesn’t say how or why they may interact.

I understand Dizzy Cook is a forum member although I don’t recall ever speaking with her personally. Perhaps you could contact her via her own site and ask?

Or try Googling St Luke’s Hospital, Chesterfield. I won’t link it in here as it’s basically an advert for their services and I know nothing about them.
