Welcome Susie

Hi penny
How is your treatment with doctor s going. I found him to be lovely
Susie

Hi Susie,
Like many others I can sympathize with where you are at right now. I was in a desperate hell 7 years ago and had questioned the purpose in going on. But I did get better, and for the last few years have been mostly normal, it takes daily calculations and avoidances and alterations to my life but I am mostly healthy and independent and productive again. It’s a constant juggling act with some sacrifices but I can live with this and find much joy in life. You will get there too. It takes time.

Hi all
The vertigo has improved quite a bit, but anxiety got much worse. After consultation with my gp and consultant I am now on propanalol as well as nortryptiline and have been taken off citalopram as I actually think it might have made my anxiety worse. Now less anxious but suffering some weird citalopram withdrawal effects such as derealisation… Weird.

Hi Susie,
I’m sorry youre feeling so bad.
There are heaps of wonderful people on this forum who know a lot about this disease,I hope the info can be of some help.

This is from the Health central Migraine connection web page,
by Terri Roberts.
It’s a list of Neurologist, Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists

healthcentral.com/migraine/h … lists.html

wishing you all the best.

Hi all
Thanks for all of your support you have really helped. I have one more big ask. I am still struggling a lot to totally understand what is going on with me, is there anyone on this board who has got better who would be willing to let me phone them , I think being able to actually talk this over with someone would really really help. I am still in a place of blaming myself for a lot of this and a chat would I think really help.
Thanks again
Susie

Hi Susie,
Where are you from?
I’m in Australia, not sure if that will help.

Also have you had your hormones tested after giving birth?
Sometimes hormones become out of whack after giving birth.
I’d suggest first, to see your Dr, as you need to be assessed by a Dr.
Post natal depression is common, I had it.
I’m not saying you have it, but worth talking to your Dr about it.

Surely a person born with the migraine gene/brain could be more at risk of childbirth triggering this.
Having a baby Is one of the biggest life style changes a woman can go through other than menopause.
The lack of sleep alone is a killer.

Thinking of you and hope you find someone to chat with.
