I have a large-ish backyard and the sunflowers attract King Parrot birds. They help me to do the propagation. So I have sunflowers popping up in unexpected places.
Wow! King Parrot birdās are gorgeous. Our prettiest bird that visits our backyard is either the Northern Cardinal or Blue Jays. We have an occasional Cooperās Hawk, but they are beautiful in a whole different way. But, we have nothing to compete with a King Parrot.
Yes!
Tbh, bees on anything make me happy, but that sunflower is particularly beautiful. My lawn can sometimes have up to 3 different species of bee buzzing around at one time. (Bee diversity is really important apparently!). A bit about Wild bees in UK.
Iāve been under my 200 pound weight goal for two months now. Thatās 90.7 Kilos for our metric friends. Iām eating regular every day foods and the only HMR foods I still use are the shakes. I use two to three of those a day mixed with fruit and sometimes sugar free instant pudding. This morning I weighed in at 193 pounds/87.5 Kilos. Thatās a number I havenāt seen since I was 22 years old. Iāll be 70 in March.
I think Iāve uploaded before and after photos before, but Iām going to put them here so you will have a point of reference. If I can just get rid of that tummy fat now, Iāll be a happy camper.
Remember that I started at 287 pounds/130 Kilos.

Iāve emptied out my closet and given all my old clothes to AMVETS. now Iām buying new clothes to fit the new Dad Bod. I did find some old clothes from way back that fit. I canāt imagine they are 50 years old, but they must be. See, it does pay to never throw anything away.
The sunflower I posted a while ago has developed nice kernels. And the Yellow Crested Cockatoo is enjoying them:
Your weight loss is fantastic.Your flowers and the attendant wildlife look awesome.
I felt very dizzy today from the get go, but I was still able to go eat dinner with my husband for valentines!! I am very grateful I have someone so supportive and making small changes to try to do some āNormal things in lifeā
Itās been about two years since Iāve posted on mvertigo.org. I have been doing well, going months at a time with only an occasional episode of dizziness and almost never having any Vertigo. That is, until lately. But that post is for another thread.
The thing that made me happy today, is seeing my granddaughter coming down the stairs this morning getting ready to go pick up her brother and bring him back for the week. She moved in with us a year ago so she could attend the Junior College just down the road. She moved into her motherās old room upstairs and she and her cat have been a welcome addition to our happy home for the past year.
Love reading the positive stories. My dizziness is gone so far today. I was able to start working on a craft project for my assisted living pals. Weāre making pennants for the Pittsburgh Steelers! Iām happy when working on creative projects. Please keep sharing these moments of happiness.
Pittsburgh Steelers!!?? Oh Jane, Iām going to have to reassess all those positive impressions I had of you. Just Kidding.
Iām a dyed in the wool Dallas Cowboys fan. It probably explains a lot about me and why I seem to have so many issues.
Iām waving my Terrible Towel at you!!! I have nephews in Texas, and they also cheer for the Cowboys.
My happy moment today was coming back to my home state of PA! It was great visiting several other states, but thereās no place like home.
Today in physical therapy, I was able to get up off the table by myself without the therapist giving me an arm bar to pull on.
Iām going to PT to strengthen my core because of degenerated discs in my lumbar region. Being able to sit up on the table by myself is a landmark event for me because I have not been able to do it for over a year because of the pain it caused.
That made me very happy.
I had a first visit with a new psychotherapist yesterday, with the aim of finding together ways of better handling stress. I am much encouraged! I think she suits me very well. My head was swimming - SWIMMING - when I left, but somehow I could be okay with that because I felt Iād made an investment (if that makes sense!). And, Baltimore is having a glorious autumn.
Please share what you learned from the new psychotherapist. Iām happy today that I went for my wellness exam. I tend to put things off but finally set up the appt. and showed up! I need to find natural ways to handle stress and anxiety. Good luck to you!
I keep expecting life changing results from the Wellness Exam, but they never happen. I think they do them because Medicare pays for them automatically, and the doctor has very little cost involved.
Have you ever noticed that if you ask for any kind of tests, they schedule another appointment to order the tests. Apparently, if they order testing during the Wellness Exam, Medicare wonāt cover the cost of the wellness exam.
Just one more example of doctors gaming the system.
54 years ago today, my sweet wife said I Do and we were married.
Iām not sure she reckoned for all that she has received over the years, I know I didnāt. I received far more blessings from her and because of her than any one man has a right to expect. Over that time she has put up with my laziness, my temper, my forgetfulness and my grumpy attitude that seems to have come on with age.
The funny thing is, if you ask her, she will say that Iām the one that put up with her shortcomings and she wonāt mention mine.
I think that the mutual giving and expecting nothing in return is what has made our marriage last for 54 years.
It truly makes me happy to think about how blessed I am to have found a woman as good and giving as my sweet bride. Thank you Jesus for entrusting her to me.
Congratulations! So good to hear of a long and happy marriage.
It is so beautiful this autumn in my city. I am enjoying long walks - with a reasonably cooperative vestie brain this past week!
