Worth trying Migravent / butterbur first or RX?

Good point thanks. I’ve already tried Butterbur while taking 400mg B2 and 400mg Magnesium and then tried CoQ (while also taking b2 and Magnesium) and noticed no results. Given this, do you think that’s even worth the 3 month trial? (It seems like the only difference with migravent is the bioperine)

When I was first diagnosed with MAV, I tried Butterbur, B2, CoQ10, and magnesium for 3 months. It helped a tiny bit, but no where near what the medications have done for me. For some, supplements may be all they need. But if you are in a chronic state, I’m afraid you may need to try a medication. I started on Verapamil, then Topirimate, and now finally Amitriptyline seems to be working for me. I still take CoQ10 however, hard to know if it helps, but it seemed to be the best of all the supplements I tried.

Thanks I’ve tried lots of meds; I guess can’t hurt to drive migravent as they do free returns

The other thing I really find helpful is the Cefaly device. They allow a 60 day money back guarantee.

By 3 months, I assume you mean 3 months on it at the highest dose? (if tolerated and lower doses aren’t successful). My neurologist says don’t bother with supplements and if anything they can cause an adverse reaction but I guess why not try and see if it helps.

I called Migravent and they said try it 2x/day for 2 weeks & if that didn’t work (which it didn’t) go up to 3x/day & to be on that dose for 3 months as a trial (I don’t think their customer service rep was a doctor and their website says to be on it 4-6 months for high efficacy but I guess 3 months should do). I bought 3 bottles (60 pills/bottle) which only lasts a month & 20 days at the highest dose (after taking 2x for the first 2 weeks). It seems I’ll have to buy another 2 bottles to do 3x/day for 90 days but the company says they offer an unconditional guarantee so hopefully they honor that (I took a screenshot where it says that so they can’t go back on unconditional haha).
