I was diagnosed in mid-2020 with Vestibular Migraine. I had been dealing with continuous, debilitating vertigo for about 2 months after a bout with shingles and was absolutely terrified it would never end. Fortunately, with medication and vestibular therapy I have gotten back most of my life, and am hoping to get back the rest of it with dietary changes and a new round of exercises. I have a long history of what I would describe as mild migraine attacks, but the idea that I have chronic migraine is very new to me. It’s going to take time and a lot of patience, and I hope I am up to the task. Fortunately, my husband and two kids are very supportive, and in a strange way my daughter (who also has a condition that requires a daily care regimen and food restrictions) is happy to have a partner in the whole meds and special meals routine. So I keep on keeping on and try to remember my favorite proverb when things get low: “Fall down seven times, stand up eight.”
