TexOkie
I’m a 72 year old male (as of 2024], that enjoys photography, puttering around with a flower garden, watching NCAA baseball and football (Hook ‘em Horns!) I have been trying to find out why I’m so dizzy most of the time for three or four years now. I finally received a diagnosis of Vestibular Migraine about a 2021. I’ve taken Trokendi XL and stopped it due to the severe heartburn it caused. I also was even more dizzy than without taking it, although I realize I didn’t give it long enough. I have lost 40% of my hearing in the left ear (the ear that causes my migraines) and 100% comprehension in that same ear. I have trouble recognizing sounds for what they are and understanding people due to the ear. The masks that COVID mandated, caused me to realize how much I was reading lips.
I January 2024 I was implanted and activated with an Osia Bone Anchored Hearing Aid. For the first time in nearly 30 years I can hear and understand sounds in the left side shadow of my skull.
I’m a Texan by birth and an Okie by circumstance. Hence the name - TexOkie.
