I have been on ven for about ten years and it got me to 90% + baseline. Slight background lightheaded and tinnitus. Also a tight neck. My only flare ups were acting cold or flu related. The anxiety that came with this was off the chart. I constantly work at this with little success. Valium can help to a degree. This year for the first time I’m had a couple of back to back flare ups. I have had some large events such as spinal surgery and the passing of my mum dr S suggesting they’re are responsible for over flowing the jug he describes. Out of my control so who knows he has added pizotifen to the mix. I hear great things and am not worried about the side effects .ven has the same. I have managed these. Ven is 112.5 mg AM and the same PM. Pizotifen I build up slowly. The question I would like to put out there is anyone else on the same combination and if so with what success . The plan is to lower my jug a bit and try and give the residual tinnitus and lightheaded sensation a decent punch!!!
FYI - Pizotifen is not available in the US so many of us do not have any experience to share.
I’ve taken Pizotifen in the past but with Nortriptyline, and found it very helpful
I’ve recently asked to go back on Pizotifen.
Thanks for the response. Why did you come off it? Was it helpful at shifting your symptoms?
I came off it because I had reached full remission of my vestibular symptoms and wanted to try for pregnancy. After a few years and hormonal triggers the symptoms came back.
It was helpful at shifting my symptoms, in addition to Nortriptyline, but I didn’t reach full remission until I added in Aimovig injections. But maybe if I’d waited longer eventually I would have reached remission if I’d stuck to Pizotifen and Nort.
Yes, I’m back on Nortriptyline, Aimovig and now slowly adding in Pizotifen. Still dizzy 24/7 but feeling less unwell generally and bad patches are becoming shorter.
