Just had my first botox treatment yesterday morning. It went really well and the needles did not hurt one bit. I felt really good for a couple of hours, but then was overcome by severe fatigue which lasted all afternoon. I struggled to stay awake, went to bed early and slept really well.
However today I have the worst headache / head pressure and feel weird.
If anyone is on botox, is this just an initial side effect?

Yep. Did my 3rd round Tuesday. Pukey and unsettled plus exhausted for 2-3 days, mean migraine for a week or two. Then 10 weeks of happy low MAV life. Rinse. Repeat.

thanks Emily… do you take anything to relieve the pain? I have just taken some paracetamol and it’s doing nothing. I am so looking forward to the happy days!

Nah. I don’t take anything if it’s under a 5 or 6. Then I’ll try my Cefaly. If that doesn’t work I’ll pull out a med. This time, so far, I haven’t needed anything, though I didn’t eat much for a couple of days because I felt sick. Botox gets easier.

When you say botox gets easier, do you mean that the side effects lessen over every treatment cycle? I hope that means that the benefits increase over every cycle.
It’s actually both. It gets more effective over time (cycles) and the side effects get easier on you. I did get a chunky relapse this time but it might have been adding Gabapentin. Gabapentin means I get 6 hours relief from lumbar nerve pain but MAV doesn’t like it.
