Hi Guys,
I hope everyone is doing good.
I have some questions and wanted to see if anyone can share their information with me. I have been diagnosed with MAV 14 years ago and I have been on Celexa 40 mg for 14 years and I have been doing fine. I got struck by BPPV over a week ago and it’s not going away. It got slightly better but not much. I feel off balance and it gets worse later in the day. What are your experience with BPPV and how long did it take you to get better?
Best,
Emma

I have a rather complicated vestibular dysfunction history since about 2007. I noticed good improvement in late 2023 after several hospitalizations and changing multiple meds. In February of 2025, vertigo returned and it scared me. I went back to an experienced vestibular PT and was diagnosed with BPPV (diagnosed with Frenzel glasses, Hallpike Dix and other testing). She did canalith repositioning maneuvers. I was very sick for several days but gradually improved and the vertigo hasn’t returned. Frankly, I was happy that the vertigo was caused by BPPV rather than my other very complicated vestibular issues. Often BPPV is a quick fix. I hope your BPPV also resolves quickly.
