Charming topic, I know. But I wonder if others share this experience.
Quick recap, I’m about two months into a new bout of 24/7 dizziness (etc., etc.). Previously told I had vestibular neuritis in 2007, but symptoms lasted over a year. A few recurrences along the way, with varying intensities but always lasting several months of constant symptoms slowly waning. Basically no symptoms for the past 10 years, but then BAM it’s back. Vestibular physio thinks maybe it’s VM, and I bet I ultimately get a PPPD diagnosis.
Anyway, I’ve dealt with IBS on and off for my whole adult life (I’m 41). I’ll spare you the details but one of the biggest issues is really instense and painful bloating throughout my gut.
Even when I was “symptom free” of dizziness, I would still get a bit dizzy when my gut would get really bad. Now that the dizziness is returned, I’ve noticed my gut seems to have a huge connection with the intensity of my dizziness/disorientation/imbalance symptoms. When my gut is really struggling and bloating, my symptoms are worse. When the gut eases, my symptoms are milder (or at least easier to cope with).
Anyone else have this experience, and thoughts on what the connection is?
