Dr Shaun Watson

Dear ALL

Dr Shaun Watson practicing at the Prince of Wales hospital and also has a practice in blacktown Sydney Australia is a balance and dizziness specialist. I went to see him in September when I was in Sydney and was meaning to write about him earlier but completely forgot. My experience? One word!!! Wonderful!!!

He is brilliant and knows his stuff in and out. He listened to every word I said, he read my whole sheet full of symptoms, he went through my tests and scans and eventually gave me a migraine diagnoses in agreement with Dr Ron Granot’s views. I went to his private room at the prince of wales hospital so his fees was a bit high but who cares??? He made me feel more confident with my diagnoses and assured that I will get better with a trial and error of medications. The money was well worth it. For those of you who have strong budgets, can also see him at his public room also at the prince of wales hospital but I am guessing the wait times to see him there would be longer. I recommend everybody and anybody who has a balance disorder to see him. He also confirmed that I do not have any other life threatening condition and disagreed with some of the opinions I have had from my previous neurologists.

I am in Singapore now and will definately go to see him for a follow up consultation when I am in Sydney next.

What medications does he like to use?

Darren

Go to the above link. Its a paper written by him with all his first line meds. He said he only moves on to other meds like flunarizine or Diamox if these first line meds dont work

Dear nabeel

I notice that you now live in Singapore, can you tell me did you find flying upset your MAV???
I also see Dr Watson and love him, we are now in the stage of trailing the medications to see what will work.

Thanks Heaps Debbie

Hi Debbie

flying did used to upset my mav during the chronic phase I.e. it got worst after landing. But during the flight I would b fine. Alotta people on this thread actually have a tough time during the flight but luckily I didn’t. However after getting on the meds, flying does not affect me as much anymore. As a precautionary measure I still use ear plugs to ease the quick pressure changes and valiums to stay totally relaxed though I can do without both I didn’t have them on me
