Dry needling? Scott?

Has anyone had dry needling done before? I have a lot of tension headaches after I’ve come out of a long migraine cycle, and a physio I’m seeing wants to try dry needling. I’m aware there isn’t any compelling empirical evidence regarding acupuncture, but what about dry needling? Any personal experience or awareness of research done on this treatment?

Thanks!

I did it w my pt, it helped loosen my chronic muscle tightness, I’d say trigger points?? I loved the suboccipital done under the base of your scull. The best part is when they hit a good spot and it twitches… it hurts sooo good type of way. All in all I’d say for me it helped take some of the tension off but not too much, it was a lot of effort to go through for not that much relief. I mean if you are in bad shape with your muscles being very tight I’d say it would definitely help jump start the process at least…

Thanks for sharing :). I’m still considering it. Anyone else that can weigh in?
