Does anyone find that they need to pop their ears frequently as another strange symptom of MAV?
i sometimes get ear pressure like on a plane landing it can last maybe 20 mins to most of the day but it goes away on its own. how do you pop your ears? does it help?
I experience pressure and the desire to pop them as I have ear pressure quite a bit. It is usually followed by head pressure that comes and goes before major attacks.
Chris
Thank you for the replies.
I don’t get it 24/7, just sometimes during the day. I have the urge to keep holding my nose closed and breathing out whilst my mouth is closed, this pops them, but only temporarily. it is the same feeling as being on a plane like you say. Just strange that it doesn’t happen all the time.
Yeah Mine isn’t all of the time either, but comes and goes, some days worse than others. Yes, just like you said on a plane or driving through the mountains: it seems to have no rhythm to it, just random.
Weird, first time I heard anyone else bring this up, has been happening to me for years. I always feel like they are popping but it is almost subtle at times, unfortunately constant though…
That’s my worst symptom, I also get fullness and eustation tube dysfunction on the right side
I have Tinnitus, Pulsatile Tinnitus and Eusctachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD) also. 24/7.
More then 20 years now. No earpopping for me, tried a lot, nothing helps.
The tinnitus became pulsatile (on heartbeat) right after MAV kicked in about three years ago.
I am glad to read I’m not the only one, although I am sorry for you at the same time.
I know all these things must be related, I’m still looking for answers.
Please keep on questioning…
I have fullness in both ears, but I experience the worst fullness in my left ear. Sometimes it’s totally plugged. The fullness is downright painful. I wish I could unplug it, but frankly I’m afraid I might make matters worse. Barometric pressure changes seem to trigger symptoms, it also triggers migraines for me. Today we had several barometric changes. Really drove me crazy. In addition to the fullness, it increases the tinnitus.
Although I wouldn’t wish this on anyone, it helps to know others can relate.
I have this all the time in my right ear - it feel very achey and blocked and i try to unblock it but i don’t get any relief really. It’s not there constantly, but it’s there alot. It’s bearable but it’s very uncomfrotable. I’d rather have this than be unable to walk like at the start though!
Is this a symptom of migraine then? Perhaps this is something that will ease with the right meds - i’ve had a great time on Pizotifen, but am about to sitch to Topirimiate as i want to be the best i can be!
