So for the past couple of weeks I have been doing my vestibular rehab as recommended by my neuro and pt. I thought I was getting a little better but the last couple of days my dizziness has been way up. Today I noticed a cold sore starting on my upper lip, which got me thinking. Could John of Ohio really be onto something. I don’t think herpes has anything to do with Migraine or MAV, but could it be attacking my vestibular system and causing something that mimics MAV. Or maybe it can trigger MAV. Has anyone actually tried his regimin, I’m thinking of giving it a shot for a little while.
Hi Steve
I tried John of Ohio’s regimen for about 3 months last summer after a diagnosis of meniere’s from an ENT. I felt better for about 2-3 weeks during the warm months, then it all caved in on me in September after a trip and the beginning of allergy season here. I made my way to an allergist, physical therapist, and a neurologist where I received an adjusted diagnosis of migraine variant/migraine associated dizziness. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was taking John’s recommended bioflavoinoids that have a major citrus base which probably served as one of many triggers for me. 3 years ago I was diagnosed with CFS/Fibro and that community has strong theories around virus causality and you really have to wonder. There’s just a lot we don’t know about contribution from viruses and how to treat them yet.
