Hi Guys, Whenever I am not taking it I forget how amazing and wonderful it is- it cures migraines and cuts any odd sensations related to it so, so much. Give it a try. I’ve been taking the GNC standardized one 2x a day again along with magnesium and 200mg CoQ10. I might give the Nature’s Way brand a try soon too to see if works as well. Best, Liv PS I’ve said it before, but Dr Weil’s migraine webpage is the best- google Dr Weil and migraine together and you’ll get some hits.
I have been taking feverfew for about 3 months now, along with magnesium and Ginko, and my symptoms have dropped to next to nothing - be it from the supplements or a ‘remission’, I can’t say for sure. I certainly feel a whole lot better! Just a question - do you stop taking when you feel better - or do I understand correctly that the feverfew should be taken regularly as a ‘preventative’ measure? Thanks in advance for input
Wow that is amazing…‘just’ on supplements!
How much mg do you take of feverfew?
And can I take it together with the Effexor?
I take 360mg of GNC standardized extract 2x a day -8am and 6pm roughly. It’s a miracle herb . CoQ10 is helpful too (I take trader joes) -200mg is what I take per day, and 400mg of magnesium glycinate (KAL brand). Just look for a standardized brand of feverfew. I think Nature’s Way also sells it. I had been taking it before, felt so much better (I work full time again btw- under fluorescent lights) but got lazy and thought I could get off it. I am OK on days I don’t take it if I don’t drink coffee. But I also have to be careful about the tyramine I eat- it increases head pressure- I can drink 1 beer or 1 glass of wine at night and be OK - I cannot eat MSG or “natural flavorings” in foods. Time helps but the most important thing with migraines and dizziness that accompany them is to remember you are strong. Tell that to yourself as much as you can. xx
The last pieces of advice I can offer is that women can tie their migraines (which can be silent but when your nerves are aggravated lead to dizziness, not always pain- even diminished eyesight) to hormonal points in their cycle, which I have noticed. Finally , try to increase the magnesium intake to where it’s tolerable and helping the most- when you get GI symptoms cut back. Magnesium and CoQ10 as well as SJW have helped me, as has B2 and feverfew. It’s a bit of a tricky business to figure out which ones to take when symptoms exacerbate, but I am right now doing ok on magnesium 400-600mg a day, CoQ10 at 200mg and either feverfew or SJW. But I suspect SJW helps more. Thought it does cause me to break out a little bit xx
I have just read Dr Weils intake on migraine and it sounds interesting, I really wish us all a full recovery and a life full of fun and happiness x
Thank you for your replies again. And the kind words about staying strong.
Hope you will continue to feel well!
Hi Agnes, Magnesium helps me perhaps the most so try to find your tolerable limit. I can take 600mg without GI symptoms - but at the end of the day, diet is the most important for me and I think most MAV sufferers. I get so lazy sometimes w/ diet restriction for may and then pay for it. this might be of interest- we aren’t alone! xx https://www.mymigrainebrain.com/my-migraine-blog/valeries-vestibular-migraine-survival-guide/
Passionflower also helps with anxiety I believe…similarly to Feverfew does. I"m doing well again today on feverfew and magnesium tho not sure what to do if I want to try for kids. feverfew contraindicated for pregnancy. I think the weather is less humid today, which always helps. Hope you guys are all feeling better xx
