Hi everyone,
As of today, I am moving from Effexor to Zoloft. Too much tension, tinnitus, nightmares, etc. Bummer as I had high hopes for Effexor.
Currently at 75 mg XR. Will go to 50 mg regular (25 AM&PM) for 3 days, then 37.5 mg XR for 5 days, then 25 mg for 3 days. During the last 3 days, I am to start 25 mg of Zoloft.
I hope the SE’s are manageable. If not I will have to dig out some Prozac.
Anybody ever do this before? Change from Effexor to Zoloft, or anything else?

I was on Effexor XR 75mg for several months but as it wasn’t helping with any of my symptoms excepting for lifting my depression a bit, my Neurologist
changed me from Effexor to Topamax. He told me to stop taking Effexor without titrating down the dosage and to go straight onto Topamax. I’d heard all sorts
of horror stories re SE’s on coming off Effexor and was terrified in doing so but I can say with much surprise that I didn’t have any major problems/SE’s. I may have
felt a little more anxious a few times during the first week (I took .5mg Xanax when required) which helped relieve the anxiety but this could have also been a SE
from Topamax.
Either way, the side effects were minimal.
I hope you have more luck with Zoloft.

I am already experiencing SE’s, not the brain zap thing thank goodness but extra dizzy and now here comes the headache. Having to leave work early today. 
Doc says if it keeps up we may introduce Zoloft earlier than planned but to not add the Prozac. Probably because I wasn’t using much Effexor to start with, not like those who use 150 or 300mg.
We shall see what tomorrow brings. For today, I need to lay down!
