Hi Tina,
I just had a quick look at the website and see that they are promoting the Cawthorne-Cooksey eye exercises for vertigo, including migrainous vertigo. Just like to repeat my story (which I’ve mentioned several times on the forum) as something for others to be very aware of.
I was given these eye exercises to do by a neuro physiotherapist. I had balance issues but no migraine or vertigo. However, after one day of doing the exercises (5x daily) it triggered the mav off. It was horrendous - every object I looked at was slowly moving up & down and my anxiety levels shot sky high! That was nearly two years ago and my visual vertigo is still making life difficult.
I know that the mav neurologists stress that VRT should only be started after the mav is under control but didn’t see any reference to that point on the website. I am too wary to try them again but wondered if anyone else has had success with this type of VRT?
Barb
Also, for some folks with MAV, staring into a brightly lit screen of any sort, such as that on an iPhone, can trigger migraines, so that might not be so good for you.
I download the app. $2.99, what the heck. I start VRT the end of the month so I thought I would get a jump on it. Went through the exercises twice yesterday, made me feel like shit, so I assume it’s working.
Thanks for the heads up,
Judy
