That those who have had success with meds tend to see a slow but steady improvement… i’ve not had this at all with my amitriptyline. As i am seeing my neuro on friday, i think i’m going to have to be brave and come off these meds and try new ones. I really wanted ami to work, but after taking it since november, with brief weeks of help at lower doses, i now feel as though i am back to square one. It is a shame, as i know this drug has helped many and anyone who is taking it need only search this board for a wealth if positive ami experiences, so don’t give up!
My improvement was really quick with ami. I hope you’ll find the right medication for you xx
I had a very fast improvement on an SSRI in 2004. I went from being totally unable to leave the house and out of my mind dizzy and anxious to getting on a jet to Toronto in 4 weeks (the trip was not enjoyable however). When I bumped the dose up from 10 to 15 mg later on (anxiety was breaking through again) I saw a major shift with about 10 days to near normality compared to where I had been.
Mine was a strong case of treating the comorbidity (anxiety and depression) which, by good fortune, greatly improved the VM and the left over VN mess.

My ENT took me off ami after a month because she was also convinced that I would have noticed some minor improvements.
Yes i think this is all true. I have had a very small improvement but it all went when i increased to 25mg… and to be honest, those improvements could have been down to me starting the diet at the same time. I think propanolol is going to be the one for me, especially as my heart beat is so pronounced and i see it in my vision etc. I’m rly looking forward to taking it actually haha!

interesting Lizzie. I wonder if it actually means anything? I only noticed it for the first time a few weeks prior to all this crap starting last year
I have seen many people on here report feeling better from a med within the span of a week. I think most commonly though people will see something happen within about a month or 2. For me I have seen 2 meds start to work on me in 3 and 4 weeks time.
Thanks guys! This is all postiive. I’ve basically concluded that ami isn’t working and i’m onto the prop in a few weeks x

Ruddy annoying isn’t it! A cranial osteopath once told me it’s just the brain in tension, it will subside as the ‘angry’ brain subsides. x
