Does anyone else get night blindness? Since my 24/7 dizziness and light sensitivity started…I’ve also noticed that nighttime it’s darker than it used to be. Has anyone else gotten night blindness as a visual symptom?
Yup! Classic symptom! no worries
Sweet. Thanks for responding.
I read that vestibular disorders can make it hard for people to see and balance in the dark. It doesn’t seem to affect me too much but I know people who have a vestibular loss can be badly affected x

Does anyone know if the night blindness is related to structural damage to the inner ear? Or can it be a symptom of the migraine itself? Just curious, because it seems like night blindness seems to be a common symptom of VN. However, I haven’t seen too much info on people with MAV with night blindness. But, all my other symptoms seem to be MAV related. Either way, I’m sure I will know for sure when I finally see my MAV specialist.
For what it’s worth, I noticed night blindness prior to my MAV.
VEDA lists night blindness problems as one of the generic symptoms of a vestibular disorder:

Both VN and VM are vestibular disorders so I suppose as migraine is a great mimic of other things then lots of the symptoms of VN can overlap with VM. I would think some people may have vestibular damage along with VM, others just have VM whereby their vestibular system is being distorted rather than damaged. Some people seem to suffer a lot more than others with the visual symptoms of migraine. Have you had the caloric tests to check for vestibular damage to the inner ear? x

Hey Jem,
Thanks for replying. I’ve had all the ear tests done, and everything seems to be normal (including the MRI I’ve had done). It makes sense that VM can also mimic the Night Blindness as well. Hopefully, when I finally get on meds it will help me with my visual symptoms. Should be seeing my specialist here soon.
