Type 2 diabetes. Double vision. As I am riding in a car, I see two stop signs. As we approach the sign, the images move towards each other, north and south into alignment AND also east and west, until they become one sign. They slide together. One image is further away and to the left, until we get close, as the sign moves into focus. If I cover one eye, I still see two images coming together as we approach. This lasts for a few days and then goes away. Does not matter what eye is covered. Am I having a silent migraine? No headache involved. Thank you for your thoughts.
Welcome.
Sounds like nystagmus to me. That’s caused by misfiring of the Vestibular Ocular Reflex.
See if it improves with a vestibular suppressant, eg Amitriptyline.
Diabetes has been associated with the inner ear issues btw. Make sure you get that under control.
As ever, see a professional.
