āMigratoneā
it seems to have a lot of the supplements on the list.
That looks like a good one, has all the right doses for migraine. Even the citrate form of magnesium which I prefer. I donāt know what MicroActive CoQ10 means, generally Ubiquinol CoQ10 is the gold standard. Butterbur didnāt agree with me, but Iām allergic to ragweeds in general. Always make sure the butterbur you buy is āPA freeā, which almost all of them are these days, but should always check.
Those all look great. The magnesium looks like its a mix of Oxide and Citrate forms. Citrate is good (also helps the bowels), but Oxide is generally not that great at absorption. I use Calm magnesium which is biocarbonate / citrate, which works really good for me, you can find it at Costco - I always get the plain version on amazon because stevia messes me up. Anyways, you can spend tons of money with this stuff, just use what you got for now.
BTW 100mg of B2 does seem excessive, but its completely harmless except for yellow urine, lol. B12 is similar.
I use magnesium glyncinate too. My specialist wanted me to take 500-600 mg magnesium and 400mg of B2 (riboflavin)per day but I couldnāt get past 300mg of B2 without feeling nauseous all day. I stopped taking them after a few years as I was worried about taking such high doses long term and felt my body could do with a break. To be honest I didnāt notice any difference when I weaned off them. Iāve recently started back on them as Iām having a bad patch and want to do what I can to feel like I have some agency. If you take a magnesium complex it might have some B2 in it ( many here in the UK do). I found magnesium helped offset some of the initial side effects of the meds such as slow transit.
Iāve seen Dolovent recommended by specialists because it has all the supplements at the high dosage needed that might help migraine and migraine variants included in it but itās expensive.A friend was told just to take Dolovent or the equivalent seperate supplements for just 3 months.
Your choices look like the main ones that are supposed to help. Have you been given a uideline about how long to trial the for?
Thinking about it which I never have before I can honestly say Iāve never been helped by any supplement Iāve tried. Neither those for MAV or any of the others Iāve ever tried either on prescription or via so called U.K. Health Shops.
Same here Helen, no supplements have ever helped my during migraine attacks or thereafter. I do take 4000iU Vitamin D per day though (for ms) but not MAV
