Any idea where the great Scott has disappeared too? Havent seen him post in awhile now. Must b living it up in beaches of Bondi surfin and partying Lol
Been wondering too:)…
He’s all good- just on vacation.
Hi guys – thanks for asking. I’m back again after 4 weeks away.
Was in California, Toronto and NYC – all up for one month. I have to say that this was by far the best holiday I’ve had since this crap began nearly 10 year ago. Since having my neck fixed up and consistently managing it, I can handle so much more. Quite amazing really. I only had two or three bad days. The worst was in LA where I woke up one morning with rotational vertigo and fell over walking to the bathroom. After that, it was all pretty awesome. I even indulged in some coffee and lots of other foods that I would normally give a miss on.
And saw my good mvertigo friend Kelley!
How are you Nabeel? All under control now?
S
ps. BTW, I’m engaged now – all happened on the Empire State Building last Thursday complete with a sax player. lol
Scott my friend
A big big CONGRATULATIONS!!! Engaged on the Empire State Building! Thats musta been overwhelming. And you met our medicine guru Kelley too? Excellent!! Sounds like you had a ball on your trip!!! Well done!!!
Yes bro my dizziness is well under control with the cymbalta and topamax combo. If only I can get something to work on the visuals which so far nothing I have tried has worked. But the best part is I am living life again with anxiety at the bare minimum nothing that I cannot handle and I have valium or ativan as back up when needed. No matter what happens I am still going to keep searching to find something to try and fix my vision but for now I will live with this 24/7 visual distortion as I am used to it now. At least I can still see with my own two eyes. Just that everything seems to jump all over the place. LOL
After a year and a half of this shit, I finally believe you now that I have a BLOODY MIGRAINE brain though its still hard to believe. (not sure if that made sense). LOL

I have said it before and I will said it again
This website has done wonders and has taught me a whole bunch of things which no Doctor did
Please everybody make use of this website to the best of your ability. It has loads of info archived regarding this illness which no doctor in the world will be able to provide I guarantee.
Seemed longer than 4 weeks - shows how much we miss our ‘mav guru’! Congrats on ‘romantic’ engagement - wedding sorted yet - how about top of the Bridge, now that you’re feeling so much better?
Good to hear you enjoyed the holiday with not too much crap - gives us all hope we can do it too without falling apart. Meeting Kelley too - lucky you!
Barb
Fantastic news Scott. Congratulations on your engagement. Sounds like you had a fabulous holiday and just the odd blip with the MAV.
Well done.
Christine
Thanks gang.
Nabeel – so glad you pretty much have this mother back in the cage. You worked hard at it I know, did the research work, dabbled with a number of options and now have success. Great outcome. Funny how some of us just won’t accept migraine as a dx isn’t it despite overwhelming evidence! Took me 2 years to swallow it.
Re the visual snow crap. I don’t know a lot about this but I have not heard of anyone putting that part of it to bed again once it starts. Do you know of any cases where it was reversed? It’s a bizarre thing which appears to be very difficult to reverse.
Glad the anxiety is out of the picture too.
I’m going to try and dump Paxil again. I haven’t attempted to do so for a long long while – at least not since I had this neck thing managed.

Hi Scott
Congrats to you both, can I just ask what is it you had done to your neck?.
Yea its been a year and half for me since I got this 24/7 dizziness. I know its migraine but I find it hard to accept only cz I started having migraine like symptoms after university at the start of my career when I was always stressed at the age of 25 and above. Can’t think of any migraine like symptoms as a kid or a teenager. To date though I have never had a migraine headache ever!! I can only think of my maternal aunt (mother’s sister) that suffered from bad migraine headaches during her 40’s and she said she recovered on inderal (propranolol). Anyway I have visited thousands of docs and most say its migraine so HELL it has TO BE!!! Lol!
You are right about the visuals. Its extremely difficult to reverse. Yes I have read some cases where it has been reversed but its extremely Rare. Some through oral consumption of meds and some through intravenous injection of meds and some on its own after a very very very long time for no particular reason. But for most of the sufferers it does not go away and they just have to deal with it. I plan to keep searching for a cure and won’t give up till I do.
Good luck with dumping the Paxil. You will be off all meds when you do
Congratulations Scott - sounds like an awesome proposal xx

Hi nabeel, i’m yet to find the right meds for me to combat my dizziness, but i just wanted to say that the visual distortion (which i have too) is apparently combatted by Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy… lots of horrible exercises! x
hi whoSthatchick
thanks for your feedback. actually from what i understand vrt is used for the brain compensate for people with dizziness disorders and involuntary eye movements associated with their dizziness disorder. vrt is especially useful with dizziness disorders linked to the inner ear such as labyrinthiritis or vestibilar neuritis (excuse the spelling please). although in recent times vrt has been used by docs for dizziness disorders linked from the central origin such as migraine or MS it is not always successful hence only used once the patient is stabilized after meds and that too is controvercial.dr surenthiran swears by his gaze stabilization excercises for his migraine patients but many doctors dont. if u texercise before getting stabilized on the meds its inevitable to feel horrible. my visual problem is a completely different variant of migraine. its a separate entity and a separate diagnoses called persistent migraine aura without infarction or visual snow syndrome. if u google it there r plenty of associated symptoms that come along with the visual snow or visual static. vrt does not solve altho i wish it did. i pray that no one gets this form of migraine. it is terrible and one of the rarest forms witth not much evidence of people getting better once they have it
take care

Dude–just know that in and of itself–coming off the Paxil is liable to loop you around the bend for a few weeks. That pill will give you some serious withdraw–electrical zaps, spins, headache etc. Not saying don’t do it–just be aware, they down play it nicely, but that’s a mother to come off of!!!
Yeah, I know. Even on a micro dose it will still be a mother to ditch it.
I’m back in the pool today (UGH) to get the cardio back again and then I’ll try dumping it.
