Thank you Donna, have you been to UCLA yet? How was your appt.?
Hooray!! So happy for you…I know you have been doing it tough lately . You’re a tough girl getting through those insane side effects. Happy days ahead for you!!!
Thank you Kylie! How are you doing?
Hi Elisha, Still battling! Visited Victoria’s and Barb’s famous Doctor in Sydney, Dr Granot. He was Brilliant and is suspicious that I might I Menieres Disease after analysing a VRT/Balance test I had last year. At the time it was reported as normal, however it was not at all normal - showed problems with my left ear. I am having trouble hearing low frequency sounds??? Off for more VRT test and a test called ECoG which will determine whether I have Menieres. I am hoping not, my Nan had Menieres too and had a terrible time with it. Keep well Elisha. Looking forward to seeing your story in the success stories!
Kylie
Hey Kylie,
So good to hear from you. I’m glad you have such a great Dr. I hope you don’t have MM. If you do, however, I hope it can be managed. When do you go for more testing? I’ll be thinking of you!
Great to hear. It makes me wonder about whether I at times gave up too soon on a med after a few days of much worse dizziness. Didn’t want to suffer even more, but I guess sometimes the payoff is not just adjustment but results!
Hi Elisha,
Thanks for asking about my appt. I go this Wednesday and am getting a bit nervous. I have the ENG in the morning and see Dr. Baloh in the afternoon. It’s going to be a very long day, not to mention the driving part of it.
I hope you are still doing ok.
Donna
How are you feeling today Elisha? Any more improvements? Any improvement is massive in my eyes!! I don’t have my VFT’s for another few weeks. Horrible …last lot I had done I was walking sideways out of the hospital and it took me a good few months to get back to my baseline. So not looking forward to it. I’ll be glad to get a diagnosis though…it’s all I ever think about and it’s doing my head in now! I’ll keep you posted. Keep posting those progress reports…I love nothing more than hearing positive stories!!
I’m so sorry you feel so bad Kylie! I have hope for you, it sounds like you have such a great Dr. and he’s going to get to the bottom of this for you. Unfortunately, I don’t have a whole lot of progress to report I’ve had some really bad MAV symptoms lately but I think they are hormonal so I’m not giving up hope!
Your symptoms are constant right? I thought most people with Meniere’s have cyclic like symptoms. Does valium help? I know people with MM use valium and diuretics. I was actually diagnosed with MM at one point. I had all the testing done again and my Oto-Neuro said, no, it’s MAV.
I’ll be thinking of you Kylie! I love your cute pic BTW!
Oh thanks Elisha! Yeah my symptoms are constant 24/7. I always feel crappy. I always thought that Menieres was episodes of vertigo too. However my Neuro said it can be constant in some people. He also said that I could have both MAV and Menieres… now that would be a cruel blow. I am having my tests done in 5 weeks- such a long wait. Keep well Elisha !!!
I just wanted to give a little update. My vertigo has been all over the place. One day I can be at a 1 with symptoms and some days at a 8. Today is a better day. I’m still taking the Zoloft but I’ve trialed a few Beta Blockers and had bad SE’s with them so I’m currently just taking the Zoloft. My Dr. wants me to up my dose to 75mg’s which I plan on doing tonight. So it’s kind of hard to say how much progress I’m making as I think the trials with the two BB’s kind of made things go a little nuts in my brain. Headaches have been a little calmer though lately!
Thank you everyone for your encouragement and kind words. Hopefully I’ll be able to post some real progress soon!!!
