As an aside I am a single male in my 30s.
My closest airport is Vancouver BC. I’d love to keep things simple. I have thought about Amsterdam since it is quite walkable, but the trip seems daunting. I have only stepped in an airplane twice in the past 10 years (a 5 hour flight and a 1 hour flight), and oddly it was a pleasant experience.
The main things I have to cope with are: migraines/vertigo, anxiety/stress, cautious attitude.
I am also a bad planner and bad at making quick decisions. I increasingly dwell on even the most mundane decisions.
Any tips would be appreciated.
My dream trip is probably the US Southwest. But given that I will not consider renting a car this trip may be rather difficult. Public transit is often substandard in this region.

Greetings! Others may have some actual advice(!), but as someone with VM and anxiety, I just wanted to share an understanding of the difficulty here. My only requirement if I decided to actually fly anywhere these days would be a direct flight - it is the connecting flights, the time in airports (a vestie’s nightmare!), potential for flight screwups, etc., that make air travel so unpleasant.
I agree that finding a walkable city is a good plan. London is a walkable city! And most European cities have much better public transport than most of the USA.
Sorry for the late reply . . . I’ve been away. Why not try somewhere closer to home? How about San Francisco? It’s a beautiful city with lots to do, and you can get around on public transit. You can fly into SFO or Oakland and take BART into the City. Find a non-stop flight and a comfortable place to stay and give it a go. Springtime would be lovely. Good luck!
