Some off topic good news

You have all been so supportive that I just wanted to share with you that I had my ultrasound today, and the baby looks very healthy and is a … BOY! I am very glad that all is well. Just, unfortunately, not as excited as I generally would be because of how ill I am. Saw another OB today (they have you see different docs each time so you get to know who will deliver the baby) and she wrote a script for 25 mg Zoloft without a second thought. For some reason, though, I just can’t get myself to take it. Am considering it though. Will torture myself some more with trying to make a decision.

CONGRATS! Oh, boys are so fun! I have three of 'em…and one girl. The differnce? Boys made my body tired. My girl, she makes my head tired! LOL

Have you picked out a name?

Zoloft was SUCH a harsh drug on me (had to stop after first dose)…is it for anxiety? I know…I am shameless.

Some docs feelings are that zoloft is a great drug for MAV, while other neurologists do not feel that way. Dr. Newman in NY uses it as one of his first line drugs to treat MAV. IT also can’t hurt for my depression, as I am so sad over my disabling condition.
have no names at all. I had the cutest girl’s name ready to go, but boy’s names are more of a challenge for me. So nice that you have such a large family.

Congrats! I couldn’t be happier for you. What a joy to know that you are carrying a healthy baby.

Hey Lisa,
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so glad to hear your baby boy is healthy.

As for the zoloft, I know it must be a tough decision that only you and your doc can decide upon. Keep in mind, which I think you know, stress is not great for the baby either. Please take care of yourself and thank you for sharing such nice news:-)

Warmest,
Lisa

Boys bring great joys! Glad to hear the all is well with the baby, now to get mommy there also.

Lisa, congrats on your healthy baby boy. He will definately change your life. As for the Zoloft only you can make that decision. Only you know how you feel and how much you can tolerate. Sometimes just knowing you have it there if you get really desparate helps you make it through the day. Good luck on making your decision, my thoughts are with you.

Thanks so much. You are all such kind people, and I wish you all the best. We all deserve to get better soon!

Lisa,

Congratulations!! Yeah…a little boy! I agree that boy’s names can be tougher. I’m sure you’ll pick a great name…
So nice to hear that he’s healthy too! Isn’t it nice now, you can call the baby “he”

About the Zoloft…I took it in my early 20’s for anxiety and I was fine on it, maybe a little tired at first. It definitely helped the anxiety I was having. I only took 25 mg. I took it for 6 months or so and then stopped. Don’t remember having any weird withdrawal either. I’m sure your doctor took everything into consideration when prescribing it to you. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Congrats again on the little one!!

Colleen - thank you. My doc only wrote the script for zoloft b/c I told her that’s what some neurologists recommend for MAV. I actually took it for a few weeks last year, but only got up to 25mg before another neurologist took me off of it. I tolerated it much better than other MAV drugs. hope you’re continuing to do well!

Lisa, congrats!!! I am so excited for you! I was just thinking of asking you if you were finding out the gender soon. I know you’ve been having a rough time, but I hope that this news brings you joy. Whether or not you decide to go on the medication, that little baby boy is lucky to have such a strong mommy.

Lisa - congratulations! As for a name, what about Michael Allen Vincent?

cassada - thank you. I don’t feel all that strong, as I am crying all the time. But, I appreciate your kind words.

Victoria - thanks for the suggestions.

I’m so happy that the baby looks healthy! My little boy has given me such joy. He keeps me going and makes me laugh everyday  I hope that yours will bring you joy, as well. Kristen
