Sound distortion

Anyone else ever experience sound distortion with MAV?

I do! Sounds get very loud to me. Actually voices that are further away sound like the person is standing right next to me. And voices that are close are muffled. Hard to explain … but yes, I do get sound distortion with my MAV.

It feels like I can’t hear well enough sometimes. I’ve had two hearing tests, and have checked out normal. Other times the smallest sounds are so loud! My husband can be making a sandwich in the kitchen and I have to go into another room It can be so loud to me. Just the sounds of the fridge opening, or cabinets opening and closing; wow.
Is this what you mean by distortion?

It’s more than amplification. The consonants seems to garble with the force of the drumming in my ears. I’m thinking that maybe, as I reach that point in my migraine, that a host of other issues are there, but less prominent so that concentration on the words themselves is lost.

The closest I’ve ever come to such ‘confusion’ was being unable to differentiate between the dryer, cars driving down the road and thunder when my migraines were at their worst. This was magnified - like aliens talking.

The distortion I get is an echo like sound. I’m not talking about your normal type echo with seconds between repeats, the echo I hear has a delay of fractions of seconds. It’s not like: echo… echo… echo… It’s more like: ec-e-h-c-h-o-o. I can also get a muffled sound that is accompanied by extreme sensitivity to ultra low frequency sound.

You know, Brian - that sounds exactly like what I’m talking about. Excellent. I’ve not lost my marbles.

Hearing tests on me, btw, are perfect. In fact, it would appear that I can hear flies fart if I paid attention to such things. LOL

my hearing test always come back OK as well except for a what used to be a fluctuating loss between 200 and 800 hz. It is now a permanent loss at that frequency range

Yes, when I get it, it feels like a head cold. Also, ears can get blocked and pop. A couple of painkillers and all this goes so I know its the migraine (even though I may have no pain).
