Spring allergies are flaring up and causing migraines. Does anyone take Cetirizine?

This has been one of the worse Springs in recent memory. I don’t really sneeze or sniffle (I used to when I was younger), but I do get migraines that affect my cognition among other things. I think there are a few others

In the past I took Cetirizine (a low dose of 5mg every other day seemed to do the trick) yearround. However, I would get rebound side effects after a month.

Recently, I tried taking Cetirizine daily and I think it worked for a bit and then I kind of relapsed. Maybe I am overthinking things but it would be nice to find a solution so I can set it and forget it.

Allergens of all types seem to compound issues, even dust, molds, particles, etc.

Does anyone take Cetirizine and if so do they have a dosage and schedule they recommend?

I’ve taken cetirizine for at least a decade now, at the standard 10 mg dose. Just last week, an article came out about rebound effects of stopping the med, but since stopping isn’t a reality, I’m choosing not to be concerned. I take it every evening.

Cetirizine is not enough on its own. I also use fluticasone all summer and a single tab of diphenhydramine, too (helps with post nasal drip). I rinse with a neti pot after mowing.

This season has been especially bad. My throat is always scratchy. My husband and I are discussing getting a truly high end air purifier to see if that helps. It’s either that or move to the desert:hot_face::desert:.

I take cetirizine and a nasal spray fluticasone prescribed one. I’ve not noticed any difference but I do get headaches daily.
