Well unfortunately it looks like this side effect hit me, has anyone had luck with adding Wellbutrin?

I am having the same problem and it really bothers me. I am currently on 30 mg. of Citalopram (Celexa). I have taken Wellbutrin before and it made me so anxious and jittery all the time. I also lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks on it because I coudn’t eat. I am really med sensitive, so you may be able to tolerate just fine if you aren’t.
Good luck with what you decide. It’s not a fun position to be in at all. I will be giving the Citalopram a little longer and if I don’t see any benefits from taking it, I will be going off of it.

I am on 30 mg of Celexa (brand name) and I also have decreased libido and delayed ejaculation.
I don’t know if this is too much information – if so just stop reading here – but I still get my morning wood every day, and I can get an erection and have sex whenever I want without any issues, but it takes me a very very very long time to ejaculate. Actually, beyond the time of enjoyment for me or my wife. And if I don’t have sex, well, that is not such a tragedy either, whereas previously I wanted it more often. The decreased libido and delayed ejaculation are improving slightly, but not majorly.
My feeling is that the trade off is worth it because I am about 90% better, and the sexual thing is the only real lasting side effect apart from tolerable tinitus.
I guess it is a trade off.

Longshort, thanks for the info. Luckily my equipment functions the same as before, but I just have less interest in sex compared to before. I would be okay with some of the other side effects, but I hope they dont hit me!

I have a script for Wellbutrin to use “as needed” but haven’t filled it yet. My therapist told me she has patients that have had good success with it, but I just haven’t tried it yet. I’m in the process of weaning off Lexapro, but do also have these side effects.
She also told me I could reduce the dose on weekends (time when most people have sex–kinda funny!) if I wanted to and see if that helped. I’m already on a low dose of <5mg as I chip away at the tabs each night. The Wellbutrin can be taken an hour or two before sex rather than daily as well. Takes away from the spontaneity of things, but then you don’t have to add another med to the daily routine if you don’t want to.
So there are a couple of options to deal with it. I still suggest staying at the lowest dose possible

I noticed a des crease in desire and a harder time getting to “celebrate” while on lexapro. On cymbalta I take longer to get there but seem to have a bigger climax once I do. I’d really be bummed if I couldn’t get to “o” island but I would make the trade to not suffer from Mav
