At what dose did you start noticing the effects?
Anyone? Even the dose of another anti-depressant?
Hello hello! It works. I just replied under the bicycle thread xx
Thanks so much! You are lovely!
Hi there,
I am currently on 50mg of Amitriptyline which I take before going to bed each night. I started off on 25mg with instructions from my Doctor to increase up to 50mg if I could tolerate the side effects. Fortunately I didn’t realyl get any side effects so after 4 weeks of noticible improvement on 25mg I decided to up it to 50mg and noticved a huge difference within a week. I was on propranolol before but it stopped being effective but I have noticed a bigger difference being on the Ami than I did on the Prop. I feel so much more balanced and steady now and I don’t get the horrible dense headaches or twisting sensation any more either. I had a cold last week which made me feel a bit spaced out and sluggish, but today I am feeling totally clear headed and almost… normal
It is weird when you feel ‘normal’ because it has been so long since I felt it! Anyway, I would stick at it with the Ami. It took about 3-4 weeks for me to feel a noticible difference. My Doctor says up to 8 weeks ar a particular dosage. Everyone is different though.
Good luck!

Thanks for a lovely positive message Glasgowgal! Did you have 24/7 rocking vertigo and visual rocking before, along with imablance? So great to hear you’re feeling normal! EXCELLENT!
this is fantastic news!!! did it help you feel more steady when walking? how long have you been on it total? Sovertigo posted recently that she feels a lot better on 10 mg of ami so it can happen with a small dose.
missmoss, what symptoms did the ami help with? what symptoms did the topamax help with?
