Triptans for silent migraine

Has anyone had success using them for daily silent migraines? I’ve tried 3 different ones so far (Replax, Maxalt and Axert) and so far only the Replax seemed to keep the symptoms at bay - didnt get worse but didnt take them away either.

Hi Tamsha,

Sorry for being dim, but I’m not clear what you mean by silent migraines? Do you mean a migraine without headache? If so, as far as I’m aware triptans are effective at taking away the headache part of a migraine, so they wouldn’t be of much use if you don’t have a headache. I take imigran when I have a headache type of migraine, and find it very effective, but it does nothing at all to help my MAV symptoms. But perhaps I’ve misunderstood what you are asking?

Or maybe others on here have had different experiences with triptans? It would be interesting to know.

Yes, sorry. Migraine with tons of aura (numbness in arms and legs, smelling strong odors that arent there, tingling, tinnitus, dizziness, anxiety, depression) but mild to no headache.
