VM morphed into Abdominal Migraine?

Hi, been a member here since 2015ish and had my VM under control for over a year with no meds (stopped Nori after taking for 9 years). However recently I’ve been getting the initial onset dizzy feeling which then grabs my stomach and becomes what I believe may be abdominal migraine? I feel incredibly ill and usually have to use bathroom multiple times (sorry) and/or in the case of last night vomit repeatedly (also sorry). It then seems to ease off after awhile. We’ve had fluctuating weather and weather has been a big trigger for me in the past. I also stopped worrying about diet like I used to and had been pretty much eating like a normal person for over a year. Anyone else experience this? I know it’s supposedly rare for adults to have abdominal migraine. Thanks

Having VM or MAV doesn’t sadly stop you from having other illnesses.

I ended up having Gastritis for about a year and a half and that was horrible.

So do get these new symptoms checked out by a specialist in that area.

Hi! Thanks for your reply. Do you feel your gastritis was related to migraine at all or a completely different illness?

Completely different. I think it started when I over-ate (or ate something dodgy) at a Brazilian BBQ restaurant

My fault almost entirely but luckily have completely recovered.

When the pain came on I became dizzy but it was nothing like MAV.

Wow a year and a half suffering from a possible food error? How awful! Glad to hear you are better now! Yikes that’s scary…

I had this last year it was indeed horrible and have no idea why it came about and/or why it took so long to resolve. The interesting thing was an upper endoscopy showed nothing and the gastro specialist was confused as to why I was having the symptoms. He guessed that maybe I’d been hit hard by a virus and that the nerves in the stomach were hypersensitive and irritated. Being a migraineur I thought maybe there was a connection to migraine, but I will never know. Regardless, famotidine and Gaviscon helped a lot. And also eating the most boring and bland diet known to mankind… uhg

I feel also that my system is just more vulnerable to preexisting conditions, for example like gallbladder issues for myself. Your flare up sounds like my irritated gallbladder.

Whatever it was, it did clear up following a few months of smaller meals. I had acid reflux badly once so avoided eating or drinking anything not water based within 3 hours of bedtime.

The Gastritis was diagnosed by a stomach and bowel specialist but I didn’t end up needing an endoscopy.

That was my next question as to how/who finally diagnosed you with gastritis, so thank you! Did you have symptoms the entire time or would it come and go? I’ve had a few days now with no issues but today it’s back again. Can’t correlate to any food source in particular. I just feel a sudden tightness in stomach and then several bathroom trips. Guess I’d better make an appointment!

Excruciating pain from stomach region that comes in attacks. The worst pain ever. Discomfort at the edge of the ribcage all day. Forced me to use kneeling stool in order to sit with any level of comfort. I had acid reflux badly one night so I subsequently avoided eating within several hours of lying down which stopped that occurring.
