Is it normal that I dont experience rotational vertigo at all? I was experiencing only the forst 3 weeks when I was trying to sleep in a certain position especially.
Perfectly normal I’d say. Could be the drugs you take have controlled it. Some people never get any at all.
Yes. I had rotational vertigo for a phase only.
I don’t believe it was the drugs, I simply stopped experiencing it because the physiological cause disappeared.
Clearly rotational vertigo that is positional is not a complete invention of the brain, something is going wrong with the sense organ. This might be benign, but the brain is definitely reacting to some information which is incorrect because the sense organ is not behaving as learnt.
Today tried some push ups after a long time. When I was doing them after some reps I started to tremble cause of not being fit lol, this tremble made my vision wobble, I am not remember if this is normal or not. Does anyone know if this normal when you tremble a lot from straining or cold for example to have trembling vision?
Has anyone problem with writting?
Yes, depends on how symptomatic I am. If bad it can really be rubbish. If I’m pretty good It’s nothing grande but beautifully legible. Looking back through diary some old entries I can barely read myself.sometimes I find I’ve even left a letter out of a common word. Some people use the wrong word sometimes too. It’s all to do with cognitive stuff, like brain fog etc.
Sometimes I feel my hand weird but my main problem is I cant keep up with my eyes what I am writting, it feels like I am hit by a hammer.
I forget, are you medicated? Venlafaxine helped me with a similar symptom. The brain gets so over sensitive that everything, eye movements, pen stroke, light on the paper gets processed as an assault.
@Kon you can add your meds to the appropriate fields in your user profile. These will then show on your user card when someone clicks on your avatar. Remember to keep it up to date.
Yes I am medicated I am going to update the profile.
I said I am not having tinnitus well, I have now for a week or two but only when I am on my room trying to sleep or wake up.
Tinnitus is always more noticeable when the environment is quieter. Other sounds can drown it out.
Woke up today with a hangover headache. My head is feels like its gonna explode, like I was on a fight too or sleeping upside down.
Have you been back to the consultant yet? I think I remember you saying you had to go back in couple of weeks. This condition is like you describe, constantly changing and varying intensity of symptoms. It gets on your nerves, is frustrating and wears people down both physically and emotionally To get it under control you need to reach a high enough dose of medication and also reduce triggers considerably and relax and then stick with the necessary lifestyle changes for a couple of months probably before you will experience some ease of symptoms, sorry Kon but thats just how it is. Went yesterday to the neuro-oto. I told him about my eyes and all the problems I have he was thinking to add a med before he do the exams. After the exams he saw that my eyes had a very little nystagmus and my balance was really good. He decided that I should try to cut of gabapentin and ami but he told to keep propanolol. To be honest I may be good on tests but I am not feeling 90% better as he said especially my eyes. He explained that my eyes dont work as a team cause if this condition and that we couldnt delete this symptom only reduce it…
But we can reduce it by a lot.
I aced the balance tests but still had vestibular symptoms for another 2 years at least.
How you feel is not often reflected well in the testing.
Don’t give up. My balance is completely normal these days. My eye got better too. Took years to improve though!!
If the withdrawal of meds make me feel bad I told him I will communicate with him and he said sure we will see what we will do. He also told me if I dont get better I may need to do a rheumatologic check. I asked him about propanolol and he said I can take it for life if I want to ( asked about side effects). I was a bit surprised that he actually wants me to stop the meds.
Do you feel better on the meds? Perhaps he’s concerned they aren’t having the effect they should
I feel a bit better with propanolol as it concerns the headache and the stress.
