new here! do i have unusual pattern?

Hello My name is Marion(22) and i suffer from ‘weird’ sudden vertigo (room spinning) attacks since 2019. the weird thing is, i get them VERY infrequent. first one 2019 (room spinning as only symptom lasted around 30 minuntes) second one 2023 (room spinning lasted 15-20 seconds, went away with breathing technique) third one februari 2025 (room spinning vertigo, nausea, shaking, hot flush lasted 15 minutes but had some after diziness with head motion that left the next day). and june 2025 a very brief episode (if you can even call it that) with 10 second instability/ off balance feeling that also left with breathing. i NEVER experience any headache with these attacks (or ever). i always have very clear triggers. stres/anxieety or overload being number 1. after that hormones and the usual not eating/drinking enough, not sleeping enough etc. what i think is weird is that i always thought these were panic attacks but my doctors keep telling me room spinning vertigo is impossible for anxiety or panic attack. has anybody have such an experience? i btw dont experience vertigo or dizziness between attacks, apart from soem anxiety dizziness when im scared a new attack will come on

Welcome!

My symptoms started with small short attacks at times of very high stress or anxiety.

These were also infrequent and showed no other pattern.

Yep, this was a feature of my lifestyle at the time. I was getting only 4 hours some nights.

you stopped gettign vertigo attacks right? so there is hope? i sometimes feel like im doomed for life and get really depressed… i will try anything in my power to keep the mthis infrequent or decrease them even. i feel like its partly psychosomatic for me. thanks for your replies

Not necessarily. But I would start being kinder to yourself and make some changes to improve your overall chances.

Dump caffeine and alcohol to start with and try to make changes to reduce stress.

You are not alone. I’ve had several vertigo attacks too. The worst for me was last summer. Exhaustion can bring it on for me. I was told to drink more water - stay hydrated at all times. Stay away from caffeine. Stress and anxiety can also bring it on.

There is always hope and there are good people in here who can give you advice. Walking and getting exercise also helps the problem. Good luck to you!
