Vestibular migraines / aura migraines

And grief.

I don’t think I am because I talked and cried about it . But maybe I’m not really over it yet ! Do you think that could be cause of my headaches

the hormonal change alone could have been the trigered for both migraine and anxiety. I got it after my son was born and got my period back. My period is pretty regular now, and the anxiety is all gone. Just the migraines and dizziness stayed with me.

Now I have severe anxiety ! I went the doctor and they said my hormones was fine. But the day it happened plays in my mind time and time .

Deal with the elephant in the room. This was a major thing in your life. You have to process it emotionally. And yes all of your symptoms could be attributed to anxiety. I watched it for years as my husband dealt with panic disorder. See your therapist.

your hormones regulate pretty quickly, that is why I said they are the triger but not the underlying cause (which we don’t really know). Take it easy and I hope you start feeling well soon!

Don’t self-diagnose. You need to hear this from a doctor. Let us know what diagnosis they make.

Hey guys so I went to a neurologist today . He said he’s concerned because of my symptoms and he wants to rule Out MS.i for a CT yesterday and everything came back normal . But he said I need to do a MRI so they can look throughout the whole brain. He gave me topiramate 25mg. Can you guys let me know how if you use them ?

How what? Lots of us have tried topirimate. It’s the first drug they offer. For a lot of people it’s the only drug they need. For the rest of us, we’re glad there are other options.

Don’t be surprised if your MRI is normal. VM is a diagnosis of exclusion. That means they rule out everything else first. Almost all of us here have a normal MRI.

It was pretty scary . I’ve taken the drug and I’m having a few side effects but not bad. I’m remaining calm. Also have anyone had the feeling of heavyness in there arms or slight tingling . Did they think you had MS ?

Common VM symptoms. Worry less.

So you think I should worry less ? He did the vibration test on my feet and asked did I still feel it and I said yes . I’m feeling the tingling here and there and my chest is tight. Feel a slight sting on chest . I feel like my nervous are bad .

It does sound like you’re ramping up the stress. Here’s the thing. Either you get an unfortunate diagnosis or you don’t. You can’t change the results. It is literally in God’s hands and there is just no point in borrowing worry from the future. If you have a crap diagnosis (and believe me, VM qualifies as does anxiety/depression), then you’ll deal with it one step at a time. What else, really, can you do? Worry won’t make you better, but it can make you feel a lot worse.

Each and every one of your symptoms could be a physical ailment or a psychological trick your brain is playing on you so you’ll pay attention to whatever it is you need to deal with.

I’ve had VM for at least 22 years. It’s been disabling since 2017. That is an atypical story. Most folks find their groove early and go about their merry way. You’re new in this and that is a huge advantage. As is your youth and your strength. You’ve got great spunk - good video, I wish I was that brave.

I’ve had every test under the sun with more specialists than I can even remember. I’ve tried more drugs, supplements, devices, lifestyle hacks and diets than I can count. Am I dead? Nope, don’t think so. Is my quality of life not worth living? Again, no. What’s the difference? Attitude. I have come to understand that this is my life’s challenge. It is my story and I’m going to live it the best way I can. Maybe that means dizzy too often or one of the other 46 symptoms I’ve tracked over time (including every one you’ve mentioned so far). The one thing that can’t be taken from me is my spirit. It can be battered and it certainly has, but I won’t be broken. I’m going to live and be happy doing it.

Whatever happens, you’ll deal with it. You’ll make peace with it. You’ll find ways around it. You’ll eventually feel much better. You will be ok, though it may be a different ok than you were expecting.

And on the bright side, you’ve gained a new international family that gets you. Hard not to see that as a blessing.

Wow this means so much and you taking your time out . I do understand what you mean and I’m going to try . I do tend to overthink or stress about everything. Soon as I took the medicine I thought about the side effects and started to feel them. Then the feelings in my left and right arm. After that I go on google and search up the difference between panic attack and heart attack because I started to feel weird . I really wish there was a way I could turn that off .
